Jesus said that as we go into the world, we should strive to make disciples of all men.  Our efforts in evangelism hinge on a three-fold approach.  Each week we have the potential of reaching thousands of the population with the Word of God through our sermons broadcasted live on Facebook and shown on our YouTube Channel. The purpose is to inform people about the Church of Christ, encourage bible study and to invite them to visit with us. Door-knocking and Personal Influence:  As we go from day to day our members are encouraged to use their personal influence to lead people to Jesus.  Door-knocking is also used as a tool to inform people about the Lord and His Church.

Our Community House is located at 1013 Chico St. which is next door to the church and is part of our campus. It is a 5 bedroom house, with three bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room and laundry room. Each room is rented to tenants who are homeless at a low rent cost. Tenants have the responsibility to keep rooms and community areas of the house clean. The House is owned by the California Ave. Church of Christ. A management team from the congregation is assigned to manage the property and screen potential tenants.

Our Homeless Feeding Ministry consists of two teams. (Preparation Team and Delivery Team) On the last weekend of each month we take sandwiches and water to the homeless of our community. It is the responsibility of the Preparation Team to make sandwiches on Friday afternoon and the Delivery Team takes the food out to the community to the homeless on Saturday morning.  

Personal Hygiene items are gathered from the members and given to 2 homeless shelters in the Bakersfield community.

Our Social Media Ministry is responsible for our livestream on Facebook and YouTube. The ministry also monitors all virtual classes and seeks ways that we can advance God's Word among the world.

Our Bible School Ministry consists of Classes from Pre-school to Adult Classes. We have a mixture of in person classes and virtual classes. Classes are held on Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Our Children's Ministry conducts activities every quarter on Saturday's. The activities encourage children in God's Word and provide a time for various games, fun and fellowship.

This Virtual Ministry is on Zoom every Sunday at 5:30pm PST. It is designed to provide spiritual encouragement through the sharing of God's Word. Each week, there is a different speaker from churches of Christ across the nation. The speaker has 25 minutes to share God's Word, then 20 minutes engaging in Q/A dialogue with the audience.

This is a class taught by the minister of the congregation. The goal of this class is to provide guidance to men of the congregation for spiritual development.

Once per quarter the men of the congregation gather for breakfast and encouragement. At each breakfast a selected brother from the Leadership Ministry Team will give a 10 minute word of encouragement.

Once per quarter the women of the congregation gather for breakfast and encouragement. At each breakfast a bonding activity and/or a selected sister will give a 10 minute word of encouragement. 

Our Benevolence Ministry serves under the leadership of the Minister/Evangelist of the congregation. The function of the Benevolence Ministry is to assist people who have emergency needs beyond their control that are impacting their lives in a detrimental way in a time of crisis.

This is our online Evangelism Program in which we teach God’s Word on a virtual platform. It is a Church of Christ program based in Lubbock, TX. The program refers non-Christians that live in the Bakersfield Kern county area that are interested in learning more about New Testament Christianity.
